The Canada Summer Games is a quadrennial event that brings together over 3000 of the nation’s top young athletes to compete in 21 different sports. All 13 provinces and territories participate in what is the largest regular multi-sport event in Canada. The best pathway to become an athlete for Canada Games, is through the Academy.

Canada Games Training Pod Tryouts


Sept 29-Oct 1, 2023 we will be holding tryout for the 2023/24 Canada Games Training Pods. These pods will consist of 20 athletes chosen by a selection committee at the tryout.


  • Who can tryout? Born 2008 or later
  • Tryout Dates/Times: Sept 29-Oct 1, 2023
  • Tryout Location: NLSC - 90 Crosbie Rd, St John's, A1B 3W4

Male Tryouts: Friday 5pm-7pm Saturday 9am-11am, 1pm-3pm & Sunday 8am-930am

Female Tryouts: Friday 7pm-9pm Saturday 11am-1pm, 3pm-5pm & Sunday 930am-11am

  • Length of training? Training will be from October to end of March
  • When is training? May be weekdays or weekends, still TBA
  • Cost of Tryout? $80 non-refundable
  • Cost of training? $600 for the year

 

What you get: Training from October to March, including on court basketball and off court mental training and physical training with certified professionals.
